This unit is brand new. I purchased two last year for a duplex property I owned, but only got one system in when the property sold. The installed unit works wonderfully with no problems whatsoever and the electric bill dropped almost 50% eliminating the electric 30 gal tank wtr htr.
And yes..., you are going to need an electrician to install it. The minimum service to your property has to be 200 amps, and requires three 40amp circuits w/8 Gauge wire. Realistically, you can expect to get continuous unlimited hot water for the average three/four BR, 2 Ba home w/washer/dryer/dishwasher, etc. There is no doubt the savings are enormous and you will quickly recover the cost of the unit and installation, not to mention your average life span of a tankless unit is going to be three to four times that of a tank unit.
I am currently installing a smaller LPG tankless unit in my RV and preparing to change out to tankless units for our coin laundry.
